ROUTE 1 WAYPOINT 5 AND ROUTE 3 WAYPOINT 1

Waypoint 5: The start of the second bar  (Map route 1) (Map route 3)

Even though at a first glance it may seem that we have forgotten about the loamy unit between the two bars, the reasoning behind it is that it is hardly visible.

Here we encounter the start of the second bar, where, little by little we find the "Sistine Chapel" of the geological heritage at Castrojimeno Village. Following the previous comparison, from now on it is like the parade that goes through the Vatican Museum, contemplating major works until we culminmate them with the Sistine Chapel.

The statigraphic sequence that we observa right now its characterized, as we mentioned in the introduction, by the first white chalky rocks in metric and decimetric settlements, of homegeneous look (similar to the first bar).

Lets highlight, the morphology that has adopted the first outcrop of this bar with a protrusion due to pure randomness that sometimes leavesreally outstanding morphologies.

Waypoint 11. "Tapiology" the geology and its environment   (Map Route 2) This wall has been built using different rocks of its surroundings, we can practically indicate in a clear way, where all or almost all the rocks that form it have come from. If we look in detail we see several rocks with the already classic rudists, (these tubes or circular holes in the rocks). ROUTE 3 WAYPOINT 17

Waypoint 17: Ochre Dolomites (Route 3 Map) At this point it is possible to find the ochre dolomites seen at point 8 again, although the quality of the outcrop is somewhat worse. We can see how it is made up of red dolomites formed by small oolites. All of them are associated with the moment when the sea level began to rise, but still with a low water level.

RUTA 1 PUNTO 1 Y RUTA 3 PUNTO 18

Punto 1: Las Margas iniciales  (Plano Ruta 1)   (Plano Ruta 3) En este punto se observa la primera unidad blanda de la secuencia sedimentaria que forma DS-2. Esta unidad representa  hasta los primeros estratos que dan cierto resalte al cortejo TST, es decir Transgresivo, asociado a una rápida subida del nivel del mar lo que da una rocas de origen marino relativamente profundo. La primera unidad dura que da un ligero saliente mayor representa la superficie de máxima inundación (MFS). A partir de este nivel la tasa de subida del nivel del mar se desacelera haciendo que se vea compensado por el aporte de sedimentos hasta que inicia el cortejo de alto nivel del mar (HST). Paleontológicamente en esta unidad destacan unos ostreidos de gran tamaño, con una valva inferior muy pesada que le permite estabilizarse en el sustrato.
